Friend Illustrations - October and December
I'm always so excited to get a job from the Friend Magazine. The designers and art directors are awesome and these two paintings, like all the images I do for them, were very fun and fulfilling.

Helen of Troy - Strucketh by Cupid
This is the cover I worked on for Hit the Road, Helen!, a book in the Myth-O-Mania series. They're these fun, modern retellings of old Greek myths and stories. Check it out here.

Lord and Lady Zombie
"It is a truth universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains."
I finished the male one a while ago and posted it last year. Now he has a companion with which to decompose.

The Bird Man
This is the piece I did as a demo for the Photoshop Power Day with Will Terry. It was a lot of fun, I made some new friends and I think the painting turned out cool.

The Queen
Famed is thy beauty, Majesty. But hold, a lovely maid I see.
Rags cannot hide her gentle grace. Alas, she is more fair than thee.
Alas for her!

Chalk the Block!
I participated in the Chalk the Block event at the Riverwoods in Orem. It was totally awesome. My little brother, his wife, my dad, and I worked together to create the piece. It was tons of fun and a lot of work, I'm excited to do it again next year!

Hardy Boys Adventures: The Vanishing Game
I loved the Hardy Boys mysteries when I was a kid (and still do) so I was very exited when the chance came along to do the covers for their latest series called Hardy Boys Adventures. This book is called The Vanishing Game, you can check it out here.

Masters of Anatomy
Masters of Anatomy is a book being Kickstarted that features over 70 artists drawing the human figure in 6 poses each: 3 male, 3 female. I'm humbled to be on what has grown to be a very impressive list of featured talent! It's an exciting and unique project. The idea of seeing so many different interpretations of the same fundamental art subject is a great idea. The Kickstarter campaign officially kicks off on Oct. 11th, for now check out the web site to see galleries for each of the artists and get more info.

Disney Infinity
This is a huge game and there are significant parts of it that I never touched and didn't know much about (which has made it fun to play since it's been released). While I worked a bit on the Intro, the Toybox, and Pirates portions of the game, I mainly worked on the Monsters University playset. Particularly the Fear Tech campus. Fear Tech is mentioned in the movie but we never see it so the overall look was done with regular input from the geniuses at Pixar. The main idea was that while MU was an eastern, ivy league, Harvard style campus, FT would be a western, technical, Caltech style campus. So it was a lot of fun to design the visual look of everything with those influences in mind. Gabe Avila was the designer on this so he did the overall layout, and Ryan Wood was the art director so a fair amount of what you're seeing came from him too. I won't bore you with who did what, just keep in mind that it was a team effort. Here's some shots of our work:
I also worked with the marketing team for a while and helped set up some of the screen shots that were sent to the press. Of the ones I did these are a few of my favorites (again, team effort! I'm not taking sole credit):

I really loved working on this game. My son and I have a hard time finding games to play together sometimes. Either they're too hard for him or boring for me. Since I received my copy we've played Infinity for hours together, always having a great time. It was a lot of long, hard work but I think the finished product is something genuinely special.

Back when Kaiju were called Sea Monsters
A little Pacific Rim fan art. I'm sure the Kaiju sent out scouts between the 1600s and 1800s giving a few surviving sailors a tale to tell.
