This is an audiobook cover I illustrated for an awesome book by my awesome friend: Heather Dixon.  It was a ton of fun to do and I'm very happy with the way it turned out.  Check it out here.

Mugshot

Sam Nielson once pointed me in the direction of using mugshots for facial reference.  I've been in his debt ever since (and not just for that, he's one of the best art teachers around in case you're looking for one).

I bought a Cintiq Companion 2 a few months ago, which is what I painted this with.  It's taken me a while to get used to but I'm completely in love with it.

Inspired by (but falling short of) Ryan Wood's skulls with eyeballs he always does.  That dude rules...and so does Halloween.

The Witch and the Skeleton

On our last camping trip I told my kids a spooky bedtime story about a witch and a skeleton.  I liked it so much I decided to draw a scene from it and this is the result.  When I showed it to my kids they said, "huh? we don't remember that story..." You're welcome kids :) Happy Halloween!
